Things to Do in London in April

Looking for the best things to do in London in April? With Spring finally here, we can start extending our daytime activities with the longer hours of sunshine.

In 2025 we have Mother’s Day on 30th March in the UK, unlike the US date in May. We also spring forward our clocks that day too! Londoners will be exceptionally excited about the first sunset that’s after 7pm!

Most people will take a holiday in April, which means many will flock to London. If you’re visiting during the Easter rush, be sure to book your activities in advance. During the month, I suggest treating yourself to a luxurious afternoon tea, enjoying fish and chips on a Friday at a London pub or restaurant or unwinding at a candlelight concert in a historic venue. And, there’s also St George’s Day (23rd April), a day to celebrate national pride and cultural heritage.

Planning a trip? There are exclusive discount codes this month, tons of funs things to do in London, plus expert tips to help you make the most of your visit.

Afternoon Tea: Things to Do in London in April

April is a great month for afternoon tea because many hotels and restaurants launch a Spring themed tea. This month I selected a few new, fun and seasonal ones for you to try.

I had the opportunity to experience the The Ruben’s at The Palace. It’s quite indulgent and you can have as much of the selections as you like. However, I paced myself well and found the three tiers of treats to be more than sufficient. If you’re looking for an afternoon tea in London that is lavish and delicious, give this one a go!

Things to Do In London in April: Pubs for Fish & Chips

This is perhaps the most popular time of the year for Londoners to get fish and chips due to weeks leading up to the Easter holiday. So, you can anticipate pubs and restaurants serving fish and chips to be quite busy, especially on Fridays.

Below is a list of pubs in London that we feel offer some of the best fish and chips in London. Most don’t take bookings, so you’ll probably want to arrive a little early on a Friday so you aren’t disappointed. And don’t forget Mr Sunny recommends a new pub every week in our Sunny News email!
