If you’re planning a trip to London, June is one of the most exciting months to visit! The weather is warm. And you’ll experience the longest daylight hours of the year. That means you’ll have the most time to enjoy everything London offers.

In 2026, London kicks off summer with events like the SXSW show and several other music festivals. You’ll find many museums and London attractions have later evening hours for events for adults too. There’s also plenty of festivals and activities available for families. So, whether you’re after cultural days out, garden parties or tours to the English countryside, this month delivers.

important dates to know

  • 2nd, 4th- possible train strikes
  • 13th- Trooping the Colour and BMW Classics is London Symphony Orchestra’s free outdoor concert in Trafalgar Square. This will mean Westminster will be very busy and crowded.

As always, I’ve rounded up the top afternoon teas worth booking in June, plus my favourite Candlelight Concerts coming up. And there’s also a curated list of day trips from London and a spotlight on riverside London pubs with relaxing views.

Day Trips & Tours

June is the best month to see London in terms of daylight hours. The weather is usually lovely and sunny. This makes it ideal for day trips. Just remember, train tickets are extortionate here, if not booked far enough in advance. I always use Trainline to book my tickets for anywhere in the UK. But, you could take a coach trip and have everything coordinated for you.

Afternoon Tea: Things to Do in London in June

I had the opportunity to experience the Showstopping Afternoon Tea at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. It’s quite indulgent. We absolutely loved the spin on finger sandwiches. The atmosphere is very luxurious and the food is decadent and delicious. Honestly, I am putting it as one of my best afternoon tea experiences in London. Mr Sunny even gives it two thumbs up.

June is still a good time for afternoon tea because many hotels and restaurants have a lighter menus. This month I selected a few new, fun and seasonal ones for you to try.
